The Trip

In August 2011, Sister Romana and her friend, Teresa Hayden visited Sr. Romana's former student, Martha Hurley and her husband, David Graves, in Vienna, Austria. Following is a photo journey of the sights from that reunion.

At the Hofburg Palace

Vienna is home to the Hofburg Palace, the primary office and residence of the emperors of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

Here's Sister Romana considering whether or not to take a joy ride on someone's sleek motorcycle, perhaps because it matches her outfit so nicely. In the background is a huge straw crown on Heldenplatz; behind that are the main gates to the Hofburg, and behind the gates is the dome of the Natural History Museum.

Teresa admiring examples of petit point.
